Dotz Design Co. founded December 11, 2025 by me — Dorothy Rose, a digital artist who loves bright, bold illustrations and anything that sparks a little joy.
In April 2025, I had zero experience with digital art and didn't even know how to navigate my tablet! I downloaded a free drawing app and took the plunge. Though my progress was slow initially, I persevered, and before long, my creativity began to flourish.
Creating art made me genuinely happy. When I finally showed my family what I’d been working on, their kind words gave me the confidence boost I needed to keep going.
Putting together my first art portfolio felt like laying the first brick in what would become my big dream — turning my art into a business. After lots of research, brainstorming, and planning, I decided to start selling my work on Etsy. It was such an exciting step! Of course, learning how to turn my digital drawings into real, high-quality printed products was a whole new challenge. Thankfully, I discovered Printful, which helped bring my creations to life.
As for why I create — art has always been more than just a hobby for me. It’s been a way to cope, to process feelings, and to find calm when life gets heavy. During tough times with my mental health, creating art gave me hope and kept me grounded. It’s been a comfort through long nights, emotional ups and downs, and moments of uncertainty.
Two years later, I feel so proud of how far this journey has come. Every illustration I make reminds me why I started. When I look back at my work, I feel that warm, happy buzz — and that’s exactly what I hope to share with others through my art.
Each piece tells a little part of my story — of growth, healing, and finding light in the dark. And honestly, that’s what Dotz Design Co. is all about.
